Fan Favorite – Ombre Wall

We love highlighting favorite Annie Sloan Chalk Paint projects here and this gorgeous wall has been in our top 5 for a year+!

Annie’s son, Felix Sloan, created this oceanic ombre blend using Chalk Paint® in Provence and Aubusson Blue.

Felix started by painting the top third of the wall with Aubusson Blue. He then used a 50/50 mix of Aubusson Blue and Provence to paint the middle third of the wall. Using two brushes (one for each colour) and a water sprayer, he blended the Aubusson Blue and the 50/50 colour mix together on the wall. Don’t be afraid of brush marks – they add to the character of the wall. Working on such a large scale, Felix recommends using a Large Chalk Paint® Brush and a water sprayer, to aid in the colour blending.

He finished the wall with a band of Provence in the lower third, and blended this into the 50/50 colour mix using the technique above.

This effect can be used on walls, furniture, floors – wherever! As this wall is in a bathroom which gets a lot of steam, Felix used Matte Chalk Paint® Lacquer to make it water resistant.

The enamel bath has also been painted with Chalk Paint® in Provence and finished with Matte Lacquer.
